Ford, Lexus, Mercedes, Nissan among vehicle recalls this week

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued recalls April 21-28, including a Ford recall involving 652,996 vehicles and a Lexus recall involving 458,054 vehicles. BMW

BMW of North America is recalling certain 2022-2023 iX xDrive40, iX XDrive50 and iX M60 vehicles. The airbag malfunction indicator and the message displayed may not illuminate if there is a problem with the airbag control or pedestrian protection systems, due to incorrect software. 1,029 units are concerned. Ford

Ford Motor Co. recalls certain 2020-2021 F-150 and Expedition; 2020-2022 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550; and 2020-2021 Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The wiper arms can break, causing the wipers to fail. 652,996 units are concerned. Read more

Ford is also recalling certain 2019 F-150, Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 vehicles. Due to a poor electrical connection, the rear view camera may intermittently display a blank or distorted image . As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 111, “Rear Visibility”. 21,904 dwellings are concerned. Read more

Ford is recalling certain 2022 F-150 vehicles. The power telescoping steering column connector wiring may be too short. Wiring that is too short can be damaged or come loose if the adjustable steering column is fully extended. 19,175 homes are concerned. Read more

Ford is also recalling certain 2015 Escape vehicles equipped with 2.0-liter engines. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission can degrade or come loose. 96,015 units are concerned. Read more

Ford is recalling certain 2022 Lincoln Aviator vehicles. The power head restraint cushion for the driver and front passenger seats may detach from the head restraint assembly when adjusted to the fully forward position. 933 units are concerned. Read more

General Motors

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia vehicles. The driver airbag inflator may explode during deployment due to a manufacturing defect. 2,687 homes are concerned. Read more

Jeep

Stellantis is recalling certain 2022 Jeep Compass vehicles. Front seat headrests were not welded properly. As such, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 202, “Head Restraints.” 114 dwellings are concerned. Read more

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2020-2022 GLE450, GLS450, 2021-2022 AMG GLE53, 2020-2021 GLE580, GLS580, 2021 AMG GLE63, Maybach GLS600 and AMG GLS63 vehicles. A ground cable bolt for the 48V ground connection under the front passenger seat may not be properly secured, which can cause the electrical cable to overheat. 21,306 dwellings are concerned. Mercedes-Benz is recalling certain CLA-Class, GLE/GLS-Class, A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, E-Class Coupe/Cabriolet, GLA/GLB-Class, GLC-Class, CLS-Class and EQC-Class vehicles. Nissan North America is recalling certain 2020 Sentra vehicles equipped with LED headlights. The sight of the right headlight may be misaligned. As such, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 108, “Lamp, Reflectors, and Related Equipment”. 5,520 units are concerned. Read more

Toyota

Toyota Motor Co. is recalling certain 2022 Lexus NX250, NX350, NX350h and NX450h+ vehicles. Missing spot welds between the body panels and the front shock mounting areas may cause the front shock absorber to separate from the mounting area. assembly. 4,215 homes are concerned. Read more

Toyota is also recalling certain 2021-2022 Lexus LX, Lexus NX HEV, Lexus NX PHEV, Toyota RAV4 HEV, Lexus LS HEV, Toyota Mirai, RAV4 PRIME, Sienna, Venza and 2020-2022 Toyota Highlander HEV vehicles. The skid control ECU software may not activate the vehicle stability control system when the vehicle is restarted after the driver deactivates the VSC system. As such, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 126, “Electronic Stability Control Systems”. 458,054 units are concerned. Read more
